Wallaceburg Bonspiel Successful

On the competitive side a thrilling last rock measure in the 8th and final end gave the first over all championship to Bob Ingrams team from Ridgetown. They received the Bob Richmond Trophy and $2000.00 cash sponsored by Waddick Fuels and Petro Canada.
Local team results were: 1st Event – 4th place was Jerry Meyskins, and brother Dave Meyskins 5th. 2nd event – winner was Jeff MacTavish. Jeff Rosseel, George Gammon and Justin Riedstra teams were 5th -7th. 3rd event winner was the team lead by Matt Mapletoft.
Over 80 sponsors donated cash and or product to all participants.
Saturday night saw huge bouts of laughter produced by the guest entertainer Fraser Frase and his hypnotic powers on several willing volunteers. Evidence can be found by video on the All Ontario farmer’s bonspiel Facebook page.
“The organizing committee lead by Jerry Meyskens are very happy with the profit picture from the bonspiel which goes to maintaining and running of our local curling rink here in Wallaceburg. Many other volunteers make this possible,” wrote a curling club representative in their release.
Next year’s bonspiel is scheduled for January 20-22, 2017.
