The Blenheim Blades took a 3-1 win at home Sunday night, pushing the Dresden Kings to the brink of elimination in their best-of-seven series, now holding a 3-2 series lead.

Nick Delyzer opened the scoring for the Blenheim Blades in the first period, with Zach Horvath and Kier Cumming picking up assists.

Brayden Hopkins added to Blenheim’s first period lead, with Drew Marlatt and Owen Batman assisting.

In the second frame, Hopkins scored again, this time from Marlatt and Corbin Hagerman to put the Blades up 3-0.

Dresden fought hard all game, outshooting the Blades 26-20, but couldn’t manage to crack Klinton Kenney in net.

Late in the third, Dresden’s Kyle Dawson finally snapped Kenney’s shutout, scoring a shorthanded marker with five minutes remaining.

Game 6 is February 19 in Dresden at 7:30pm.
