Madison Broad Swimming at Olympic Trials
Wallaceburg’s Madison Broad can see the Olympics on the horizon.
With that in mind, rest hasn’t been a staple of the Wallaceburg swimmer’s schedule the last couple of months. Next week’s Olympic time trials won’t be any different.
The 15-year-old Chatham ‘Y’ Pool Shark has already proven she is a world-class competitor in her first taste of international competition. Already posting Olympic trial times in the 100 and 200 back stroke, Broad is ready to put it all on display next week in Scarborough.
Pool Shark coaches say Madison will be one of the youngest competitors in the pool. The event will include former Olympic swimmers and no age groups, featuring the best swimmers in the water.
Broad won two gold medals at the Speedo Eastern National Championships in Montreal in February and posted impressive finishes at the Orlando Grand Prix meet to increase her chances at the this week’s event, held April 5th to 10th.
Madison recently received her 50 boxes of NesQuik cereal from Greg Hetherington of 99.1 CKXS. Hetherington promised Madison 50 boxes of her favourite cereal if she brought back a gold medal from the Eastern Championships in February.
