March 11 Sports Brief

CKXS-Morning-Sports-BriefsThe Chatham Maroons with a 6-1 dominating win to close out their first round Jr B playoff series against the St Thomas Stars last  night.  The Maroons may have to wait a bit for their next opponent, but the wait could be good. Chatham will face either the Sarnia Legionnaires or the La Salle Vipers.  Those two teams clash tomorrow night with the Legionnaires leading the series 3 games to 2.

The Jr C finals are getting real interesting.  Dylan Muzzatti with a pair of goals in the 3rd period and the Amherstburg Admirals get a 3-1 win over the Essex 73’s last night to tie the series at 1 game a piece.  Game 3 is Saturday night in Essex.

The Calgary Flames hope to have TJ Brodie back on the blue line tonight as they face the Arizona Coyotes.  The Flames lost both Brodie and Center Sam Bennett on Wednesday night to upper body injuries.

OMHA playoff action this weekend.  The Dresden Minor Midget Rep team will be facing the Tweed Hawks Saturday night at home to kick off their play off series.  The Ridgetown Chiefs will face the Lincoln Blades at home in game two of their series.  The Chiefs trail 1 game to none in the series.  The Wallaceburg Minor Midget BB team open up the finals at the Walpole Island Sports Complex. Wallaceburg hosting the Erin-Hillsburgh Devils.

Travis Konecny with a goal and 2 helpers last night as the Sarnia Sting dumped Windsor 5-1 in the OHL.  Konecny will look to add to his numbers tonight when the Sting host Saginaw.

Jordon Durston and the Vancouver Stealth take on the Toronto Rock on Sunday in National Lacrosse League action.
