CKXS-Morning-Sports-BriefsProvincial Champions are all around Chatham Kent.

The Wallaceburg Minor Midget Lakers are the Provincial Champions.  The Lakers defeated the Erin-Hillsburgh Devils in 4 games  with a  4-3 overtime win on Sunday to take the title. Cullen Bowles capped a 2 goal night with the game winner in O-T.

The Dresden Midgets swept Tweed over the weekend 4-2 on Saturday to capture the OMHA provincial title.

The Leamington Flyers have tied up their Jr B series with the Chatham Maroons at 1 game apiece.  The Flyers doubled up the Maroons 6-3 last night.

Game 3 in the series is tomorrow night in Leamington

Once again the Essex 73’s are the Great Lakes Jr C Champions.  Essex won the best of 7 series yesterday afternoon with a  5-4 win over the Amherstburg Admirals to take the title.

Both TJ Brodie and Sam Bennett showed they were back in the Calgary lineup as each had an assist in the Calgary Flames 4-1 over the Montreal Canadiens last night in the NHL.  Tonight the Toronto Maple Leafs welcome the Flames to the ACC.

Wallaceburg’s Jordon Durston picked up 6 points with a goal and 5 assists but the Saskatchewan Rush were just too much for the Vancouver Stealth and Saskatchewan rushed over the Stealth 24 – 16 in the National Lacrosse League on Saturday.
