April 6 Sports Brief

CKXS-Morning-Sports-BriefsWe now know the remaining teams that will move on in the OHL playoffs.  The North Bay Battalion go to the nest round after dispatching the Peterborough Pete’s 4-1 last night.  The Sarnia Sting will be cleaning out their lockers at the RBC Center, the Saulte Ste Marie Greyhounds with a 4-3 win lets them move on and the Barrie Colts advance after a dominating 5-1 over Mississauga.

The Wallaceburg Lakers held their AGM last night, of course there was a lot of talk about the sale of the team.  The identity of the new owners still quite hush hush.  One clause in the sale that most like is the fact that the team stays in Wallaceburg for at least the next 10 years.  There was concerns about the state of the Wallaceburg Arena brought up as well.

The Essex 73’s open up the Schmalz Cup finals tonight at home against Ayr

Wallaceburg native Madison Broad competes in the 100 meter backstroke today at the Olympic time trials in Scarborough.

The Chatham Ball Hockey League is looking for players born between the years 1998 and 2007.  There will be a scrimmage for girls born between the years 1997 and 2003 later this month you can register by calling 519-351-0364
