The Chatham Ballhawk 17U Girls volleyball team travelled to RIM park in Waterloo for the annual provincial tournament over the weekend, coming away with gold. They played in the 18U girl tournament, and entered the tournament ranked 37th out of 60 teams in the province. Chatham was placed in Division 2, Tier 1, as the 5th place team in this Division.

On Friday, the Chatham Ballhawks played Georgian Cubs (from Barrie), Hamilton Smash 17U, and Oakville Thunder White. They defeated their opponents, all matches going to three sets.

On Saturday, after being re-pooled, they were 2nd in Division 2. The Ballhawks faced EVP Eagles (Oakville), winning the match two straight sets. Next, the Lady Ballhawks had a challenging match against the Barrie Elites, but again came out on top with a match win in 3 sets. The final match of pool play was played against Galaxy Black (Toronto). After splitting the the first 2 sets, the Lady Ballhawks mustered the energy to pull off another third set victory, ending the day first in their pool, second in the Division.

Sunday morning, the Ballhawks played the Pumas (Casselman). This match lasted 3 sets, with the Ballhawks emerging as the victors again, 23-25, 25-17, 15-13. On to the semi-finals, the Lady Ballhawks met up with Galaxy Black again, and quickly defeating them in two sets, 25-17, 25-18. The finals saw a re-match with the Barrie Elites. After winning the first set, 26-24, the second set was a marathon, ending with a loss to the Ballhawks, 34-32. In the third set, the Ballhawks serving game took over, and they easily defeated the Barrie Elites, 15-8. The Lady Ballhawks ended the weekend winning Gold, undefeated, with a record of 18-7, and ranked 33rd in the province at the 18U level.
