Former Local Hockey Star, Jordan Shine Passes Away At 27
Local hockey product Jordan Shine has passed away. Shine, who was 27, was a former Wallaceburg Lakers and Dresden Kings hockey player.
The Wallacetown, Ontario product, spent 4 seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Barrie Colts, Belleville Bulls, and London Knights.
Shine, who was known as a tough customer on the ice, collected 531 penalty minutes, along with 19 points, in 202 OHL games.
More recently, Shine’s father, Ken, returned to coach the Wallaceburg Lakers, and served as an associate coach of the Blenheim Blades this season.
Shine was found Sunday at the residence of a friend in Toronto, where he was working as a DJ.
So young and such a full life ahead of him. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends! R.I.P. Jordan
I just heard this afternoon. For family, loved ones and friends this is just SO heartbreaking. Ken…I’m truly sorry for your loss.
My son was in high school with him when he was with the Colts. He was an awesome example with his patience for kids at school. But just found out now. So sad…. he was a genuine nice guy to everyone.v
