New Lakers Owners Introduced
The Byrne Laus Hockey Corporation was introduced as new owners of the Wallaceburg Lakers on Wednesday afternoon
The Wallaceburg Lakers have introduced a new ownership group who are financially backing the Jr C club.
The Byrne (Bernie) Laus Hockey Corporation was formally introduced this afternoon at the Wallaceburg Legion. The group consists of Joe Byrne Sr, Joe Byrne Jr and Boris Laus, all of the Essex area.
Joe Byrne Sr is a business leader from Essex who is the former chair of economic development board of directors in Windsor-Essex.
The group is backing the club financially with new plans for the on ice product. They say they are committed to the team and the town, with no plans to leave and plan to eventually bring a championship to Wallaceburg.
Not that I want to race through golf season as it’s only just getting underway but I can’t wait until September. This is going to be a whole new/better way to spend the fall and winter months…including February, March and even April. “What are you doing Wednesday night?”
