Lakers Coaches Step Down

Only days after the announcement of a new ownership group taking over operation of the Junior C Wallaceburg Lakers, it appears more sweeping changes are set to hit the organization, as the team’s coaching staff resigned this week.

The Wallaceburg Lakers are expected to officially announce the change in coaching staff today, but sources have confirmed that coach Derek Ellis, and assistant coaches Ryan Paxton and Steve Gagner have resigned.

Wallaceburg held a pair of prospect skates this past weekend including one in Blenheim, and one in Windsor.

The team, which was purchased by Byrne Laus Hockey Corporation, will retain the services of general manager Ritch Kanally for the upcoming season.
