CKXS-Morning-Sports-BriefsThe Chatham Maroons have named their new head coach in the wake of their former head coach and 2 assistant coaches stepping down.   Brian Verbeek will be taking over the head coach duties.

The London Knights are just 1 win away from claiming the OHL championships. The Knights with a 6-5 O-T win against the Niagara Ice Dogs, that gives the Knights a 3 games to none lead in the series.  Game 4 is set for tomorrow night

So do you want to still play in the CF,  Josh Woodman of Chatham was asked that as 3 CFL teams are looking over the 24 year old Corner for the Western Mustangs.  Its been Woodman’s dream to play pro football and it could come true this year.  It is round 8 of the CFL draft tonight and Woodman is ready to go to which ever team picks him up.

The Wallaceburg Griffin Girls will be facing the London Lady Blue Devils tonight in minor league lacrosse action.

Sr Girls High School Soccer action from yesterday Pain Court shut out Ridgetown 3 – 0.  Today the Lambton Kent Cardinals host NLSS

On the Sr Boys pitch NLSS doubled up Pain Court 2 – 1

UCC will host St Clair in Sr Boys High School Baseball today

In Sr Girls Rugby UCC blanked LCCVI 20 – Nothing.
