May 5 Sports Brief

 The OHL finals get underway this evening with the London Knights hosting the Niagara Ice Dogs.

The Chatham Maroons held prospects camp on Tuesday night.  Camp will continue tonight at the Thames Campus Arena.  Players coming from as far away as Manitoba for a chance to play for the Maroons.

UCC pitcher Dakota Butt brushed off 8 batters yesterday, as The Pines doubled up Ridgetown 4-2 in Sr Boys High School Baseball action.  Pain Court had their first game in the league yesterday and they scored a 13-3 win over St Pats.  A make-up game will be held this afternoon between Pain Court and UCC. LCCVI will entertain Ridgetown today.

The Duel of the Devils last night in Lacrosse action.  The Wallaceburg Red Devils with a 10-3 win over the London Blue Devils.

The Tupperville Woman’s Soccer Association kicked off their season with 2 games last night.  Peppertree downed Agris 3-1 and Jackson’s dumped LAC 5-2.

High School Sr Girls soccer from yesterday Pain Court shutout SCITS 5 – Nil.  Lots of soccer play today as LCCVI will host both the Sr Boys and Girls from WDSS, The Chatham Kent Golden Hawks will host both the Sr Girls and Boys from John McGregor as well.  the Chatham Christian School will entertain the Lambton Kent Cardinals.
