Lakers Add Youth
The Wallaceburg Lakers have invested in the future of the team by signing 1999 birth year players Jake Cummings, Nick Tetreault, Max Lozon, Noah Tetrault, and twins, Matt and Josh Farrugia.
The Lakers brass is excited about the latest additions.
“From speed and skill to size and compete, each of these young men play as large pieces to the puzzle of success in the upcoming season,” said general manager Ritch Kanally.
Cummings is from the Windsor area and played last in the Windsor Jr Spitfires organization. Nick Tetreault, Max Lozon, Noah Tetrault and Matt and Josh Farrugia are all local hockey products from Chatham-Kent. Lozon, a goaltender is from the Chatham-Kent Cyclones program while the remaining signings were picked from the Kent Minor Hockey Cobras.
Noah Tetrault is the brother of OHL stand-out d-man Levi Tetrault of the Guelph Storm.
Earlier this week, the Lakers also announced the signing of 6’6″ 210 lb defenseman Cody Nicolaisen, adding more size to the back-end following last week’s signing of 6’8″ Colton Coates of Belle River.
Nicolaisen is an 18-year-old Sarnia native and spent last season with the Sarnia Jr Sting Midgets. Cody was an AP for the Lakers last year. The Lakers believe he has good hands, is a mobile skater and is capable of jumping up on forward if needed.
