Port Lambton Pirates Down Wyoming
The Port Lambton Pirates beat Wyoming Sr 6-3 in seven innings on Friday at Canton Park behind Keelor Irwin, who went 1-2. He singled in the seventh inning scoring the insurance run.
Matt Liberty’s eight strikeouts were enough to push the Port Lambton Pirates past Wyoming Sr. Matt Liberty allowed two earned runs on four hits and three walks over six innings.
The bottom of the second saw Wyoming Sr take an early lead, 1-0. Wyoming Sr’s rally started. The lead stayed with Wyoming until the fourth, when the Pirates scored five runs on an error, a ground out by Rob Howlett, and three singles Dalgety, Sharky Howlett and Mitch Donahue.
The Port Lambton Pirates closer Cory Toms pitched the seventh to record the save.
