WCBA Bantam All -Stars defeat the London Badgers
With 12 spots available in the tournament and 14 teams vying for entry a draw was held to determine which teams would playoff for the opportunity to participate. LDBA and Western Counties were two of the teams selected.
A double header was played at Blackwell Park in Sarnia on Friday June 10 with the Badgers winning the first game in the 9th inning by a score of 4-3. Kaymond Turner and Daniel Boldt led the Counties offence while Rushlin Bhat crossed the plate for the Badgers in the 9th for the London victory. Braeden Nichols and Daniel Boldt pitched well for the WCBA team.
Game 2 went to the WCBA All Stars by a score of 4-3. With the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning Greg Ross hit a walk off double to bring in Jett Jarvis for the win. Pitchers Darian Steele, Liam Miller and Josh Noah combined for the win.
The third game was played at Aldridge field in London on Wednesday June 15 which the Counties boys won by a score of 5-2. Braeden Nichols pitched a complete game while runs were scored by Daniel Boldt, Josh Noah with two and Steele Harris with two.
The WCBA Ontario Summer Games Team includes 4 players, Darian Steele, Josh Noah, Daniel Boldt, and Collin Bond, from the Chatham Diamonds Major Bantam team, along with Diamonds head coach, Mike Bond.
