Good Showing At MMA Tournament
On July 16th at Average Joes in Windsor Ontario, Future Combat Stars hosted their 7th amateur MMA event. Gracie Barra Chatham student Dee-Jay Ladouceur, coming off a loss at MCC3 (Maple City Cagefighting) to Asheena Tilbury (135lb); fought and defeated Randi Fields of Maximum Training Centre by Submission (Rear Naked Choke) in the second round.
The fight was at 115lbs and with the win brings Ladouceur’s record to 1-1. Randi came in a favorite at the event due to her boxing experience. Chase Mason at 16 years old and Blue belt Brazilian Jiu Jitsu performed in an exhibition against Josh Bonneau Purple Belt of Tecumseh Jiu Jitsu in a No-Gi (no uniform) match.
Dee-Jay (1-1) will be returning to the cage Sept 17th at Sons of Victory in Kitchener Ontario against Greta Dearing (0-3) at 115lbs. Also on the card with her teammate Tyler Paddick (0-1) will be fighting Craig Higgins (0-0) at 155lb.
Gracie Barra’s Karolyn Pham (0-1) will be fighting in Prospect Fighting Championships in London Aug 13th against Muay Thai fighter Isabelle Lacroix (0-0) from MAS Muay Thai in Cambridge.
