McKinlay, Moretto Win On Jamieson Tour
In the Collegiate men’s division, Ridgetown’s Crawford McKinlay, who also competes for Wayne State, won with a 69 edging Thomas DeMarco of Morehead State and Essex GC by two strokes.
Leading the Collegiate women’s division was Chatham’s Julia Moretto of Maple City Country Club, who shot a 90.
The Junior Boys division was settled by playoff. Shawn Sehra of Roseland and Owen Dorrsers of Blenheim tied with even par 72’s. In the two day Pickering Cup event Shawn tied Owen Coughlin with identical 146 totals. The thirteen year old Sehra, the youngest player on tour, prevailed in both events winning the one day event on the first playoff hole and the two day Pickering cup on the second playoff hole
There was also a tie in the Junior Girls Division. Rachel Cote of Roseland and Hannah Meloche of Sutton Creek both carded fine 5 over 77”s. Unfortunately Rachel was not available for a playoff so the crown went Hannah. It was her first tour win. Shannon Coffey of Roseland, Tuesday’s winner at Seven Lakes took the two day Pickering Cup with a 79-80-159 total.
