Sharks Off To Canadian Nationals In Calgary
Three Chatham Pool Sharks have qualified for Canadian Age Group Nationals next week in Calgary, Alberta. Madison Broad, David Tran, and Genevieve Sasseville all qualified with at least 3 cuts to make this elite championship meet.
In order to qualify, swimmers must achieve at least 3 national-level cuts, and the pool shark swimmers did that and much more.
Head Coach Kyle Pinsonneault commented, “This is going to be a really fast and really tough meet. Our swimmers aren’t used to competing in higher altitudes and they are competing against the fastest swimmers in Canada. I’m very excited because I know they’ll swim their hardest and I am hoping for a lot of personal bests. I’m really proud of them and of how hard they worked to get here. According to veteran swim coach Reg Johnson “This is the most swimmers the Pool Sharks have sent to Nationals ever”.
The meet runs from July 27-Aug 1, and is being held at the Talisman Centre in Calgary. The meet also includes an outdoor open-water distance event that Genevieve Sasseville will be swimming.
The Pool Sharks and CKSN.ca will provide event updates and results as the meet goes along.
