Ontario Summer Games Baseball Comes To Chatham

Ontario Summer Games baseball is coming to Chatham this Saturday, August 6th.

The Western Counties Baseball Association 2016 Summer Games team will face off agains tthe Intercounty Baseball Association 2016 Summer Games team in exhibition play from Fergie Jenkins Field at Rotary Park.

Game time is slated for 10am.

The Western Counties team will have representation from Sarnia, Wyoming, Corunna and the Chatham Diamonds. The Diamonds have 4 boys on the 16 player roster; those representing from Chatham are; Daniel Boldt, Collin Bond, Joah Noah and Darian Steele.

Diamonds head coach Mike Bond will also be part of the coaching staff for the team along with Phil Eyre (Manager) and Phil Ross of Sarnia.

The 2016 Ontario Summer Games, taking place August 11 to 14, 2016 allows athletes, ages 13 to 17, from all regions of Ontario to compete against their fellow provincial athletes. The Games provide athletes with development and competitive opportunities that will prepare them for national and international sports competitions. Baseball is a 3 day tournament for U15 Bantam level athletes. The Games will be Baseball’s Ontario’s Bantam Affiliate All-Star Tournament.
