The Age Group National Championship swim meet was a splash success for the Chatham Pool Sharks.

The local C-K swim team left the nationals with an outstanding five medal haul.

Madison Broad turned heads with three medals to her name in the 15-year-old division – one gold and two silver finishes. Broad won a gold in the 50 metre backstroke and silver in the 100 and 200 metre backstroke.

Genevieve Sasseville won silver in the 50-metre free-swim, while David Tran captured bronze in the 50-metre free event.

The Pool Shark coaching staff was bursting with pride over the success at the national event.

“This is a huge accomplishment for the Pool Sharks,” head coach Kyle Pinsonneault told CKSN.ca prior to Broad’s final medal. “I am so proud and honoured to coach these three and the whole Chatham team.” Pinsonneault also extended congratulations to the entire Sharks coaching staff. “They have all helped get these kids to this level. We are doing something right in Chatham!”
