99.1 FM CKXS To Broadcast Inaugural PJHL Season

pjhl_logo_2016-2017_2Local radio station 99.1 CKXS will once again be your broadcast home for local hockey this season – with a twist.

Long-time broadcasters of the Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ loop, this will be the first year of PJHL hockey across the province.

99.1 FM, located in Wallaceburg and streaming live online at ckxsfm.com, will provide coverage of select home games for the Wallaceburg Lakers, Dresden Jr Kings and Blenheim Blades throughout the regular season. CKXS will also carry playoff coverage of all three squads.

99.1’s hockey broadcast team consists of Jay Smith on play-by-play, alongside Peter Cobb on colour commentary. Additional assistance is provided by Shawn Moynihan and Ian Kennedy of CKSN.ca

Smith is a long-time local colour commentator for the prior GLJCHL and Chatham Maroons. He’s also 99.1’s afternoon host of ‘Weekdaze’.

Cobb is a highly respected local sports supporter, who has covered local hockey and more for decades. Cobb joined the CKXS broadcast team last season and is also the host of 99.1’s C-K Sports Talk, Monday nights at 6:10 pm.
