With one week in the newly minted Provincial Junior Hockey League now in the books, the Blenheim Blades are the early kings of the mountain.

Four games in, the Blades are 2-1-1 following a 6-2 win over Amherstburg (1-2) on Saturday. The Blades dropped a 6-2 decision to Lakeshore on Sunday.

The Canadiens and the quintessential championship calibre Essex 73s are both 2-0 on the young season, only one point behind Blenheim in the standings, despite playing two less games.

Nick Delyzer and Bryce Broad of the Blades are sharing the early scoring title along with Dresden’s Dillon Liberty, each with 6 points within the Bill Stobbs Division.

Dresden is sitting fifth after splitting their first two contests with a 1-1 record. The Wallaceburg Lakers are 1-0 after an 8-4 loss to Dresden in their home opener. Wallaceburg is back at home on Wednesday to host the Blades. Blenheim will be without Owen Bateman, Braeden Allore and Matt Clark, sitting out due to suspension.
