Maroons Aim To Drive Away Hunger
The Chatham Junior Maroons Hockey Club and Farm Credit Canada (FCC) invite you to participate in the FCC Drive Away Hunger program by bringing a non-perishable food item to the home game against St Marys, October 2nd.
According to Farm Credit Canada , the Maroons have collected just over 2,200 pounds of food in the past two years. All food donated at the game will support the food banks of Chatham-Kent.
FCC Drive Away Hunger is about making a difference in our communities by working together to help Canadian food banks feed people in need. Since 2004, the program has raised more than 22 million pounds of food.
Volunteers will be on hand to collect the non-perishable food items in the main lobby of Memorial Arena. Game time is 7 p.m.
Most needed items include: Pasta, rice and sauces – Canned meats, fish – Packaged nuts, peanut butter – Beans, soups, stews – Fresh, canned, and powdered milk – Canned fruit, vegetables – Flour, whole grain cereals – Infant formula, baby food.
