The Blenheim Blast swim team had a spectacular outing at a swim competition in Alymer this past weekend, with seven different swimmers winning events.

“Some excellent swims and some new swimmers showing great promise,” said coach John Van Herk about the performance of his team. “Pretty solid underwater work on starts. I was pleased with stroke technique from some of our younger swimmers.”

Connor Cartier was first place in four events in the men’s 12-year-old division – 50m fly, 100m back, 100m free, 100m breast.

Brielle Farrow won the 50m breast stroke event in the women’s 11-year-old division. Her sister Talia-Rae Farrow won the 100m breast in the women’s 13-year-old division.

Grace Hansen also had a strong day winning two events and finishing second in two others. Hansen won the 100m back and 100m free in the women’s 15 and over category.

Cora Holt also won two events, touching the wall first in the 11-year-old 50m fly and 50m back.

Ashtyn Marchand won a pair of events in the 11-year-old men’s group, winning the 100m free and 50m fly races.

Finally, Brendan Van Herk won all four events he entered, including the 50m fly, and 100m back, breast, and freestyle races in the men’s 14 and over category.
