Maroons Streaking

The Chatham Maroons won their seventh straight game Thursday in Sarnia to improve to 8-3 on the year, and climb into 4th in the GOJHL’s Western Conference.

Captain Steven Beenackers had a big performance Thursday lifting Chatham to a 2-1 win over the Sarnia Legionnaires.

After Sarnia’s Eric Marsh scored a powerplay goal in the first period, Beenackers and the Maroons fought back for the win.

Beenackers scored on the powerplay to tie things at 1-1 midway through the second period. Bobby Harrison and Dakota Bohn assisted.

In the third, Beenackers again tallied on the powerplay to put the Maroons ahead 2-1, which is how the game would end. Assists went to Austin Thompson and Josh Barraclough.

Lucas Patton was solid in net for the Maroons stopping 30 of 31 shots.

The Maroons will host the Strathroy Rockets Sunday at Memorial Arena for a 7pm game.
