Lakers Fall To Admirals
It was too little too late for the Wallaceburg Lakers, who fell 5-2 at home to Amherstburg on Wednesday night.
Wallaceburg fell behind 1-0 after 20 minutes, 3-0 after two periods and then 4-0 in the third before goals from Jacob VanCoillie and Trevor Waller. An empty net goal from the Addy’s sealed the deal.
It was the annual breast cancer awareness “Pink In The Rink” game with the Lakers clad in pink jerseys, which were made available in a silent auction. Proceeds supported the local Breast Buddies campaign.
The Lakers will be on the road Friday in Lakeshore, and then meet the Admirals again on Sunday, this time in Amhersburg. Wednesday, November 2 sees Wallaceburg host the Essex 73’s followed by a very rare Sunday home game for the Lakers on November 6th against the Wheatley Sharks.
