Sarnia Sting Sign Blair Coffin
SARNIA, ON – Sarnia Sting General Manager, Nick Sinclair announced this morning that 17-year old goaltender, Blair Coffin, has agreed to terms on a Standard Player Agreement and Education Package with the Sarnia Sting Hockey Club.
The Sting selected the Dunnville, ON native in the 9th round (177th overall) of the 2016 OHL Priority Selection. Drafted out of the Southern Tier Admirals Minor Midget program, Coffin stands at 6’04” and weighs in at 220 lbs. The big-bodied netminder had a terrific showing at the 2016 OHL Gold Cup, posting a record of 2-1-0 with a GAA of 0.81 and 0.969 save percentage.
In 5 starts with the Welland Jr. Canadiens of the GOJHL this season, Coffin is 2-3-0 with a GAA of 3.57 and a .904 save percentage.
Sinclair comments on today’s addition, “Since we selected Blair in April, he has worked hard and shown great signs of development over the off-season. He was excellent at the OHL Gold Cup and had a very strong showing at our Orientation Camp in May. He was solid again at our Main Camp this fall and has gotten off to a good start with Welland of the GOJHL this season. We’re happy to welcome Blair and his family to the Sarnia Sting Hockey Club, and look forward to working with him in the years to come”
