2016 GOJHL Top Prospect Games Set For Dec. 28
The Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL) has announced the date for the 2016 GOJHL Top Prospect Games. They’ll be held at the Morgan Firestone Arena (Ancaster Community Centre) on Wednesday, December 28, 2016.
The Player Roster will be announced in early December. Game #1 will feature the top 16-year-old players, and Game 32 will be a mix of the top 17-year-old and 18-year-old players. Puck drop for Game #1 is at 3PM, and Game #2 at 6PM.
Players from the 27 GOJHL teams will go head-to-head in front of pro, junior, and university scouts.
Part of the Ontario Hockey Association, the GOJHL is a premiere development league. Over 90 players have made commitments to the PHL, NCAA, and CIS team over the past two seasons. Recent GOJHL grads who are now in the NHl include: Mark Scheifele, tanner Pearson, Dan Giardi, Logan Couture, Jeff Carter, and Joe Thornton.
The GOJHL Top Prospect Games are used to promote a path to post-secondary education for athletes. While attending college and university, many grads play in the NCAA and CIS.
The partners for the 2016 GOJHL Top Prospect Games include: FastHockey, Ontario University Athletics (OUA), Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and the Ancaster Avalanche junior hockey club.
