Former Chatham-Kent Cougars offensive lineman Randy Beardy won the CFL’s Grey Cup as a member of the Ottawa Redblacks Sunday in Toronto.

Named an OUA second team all-star last season after completing a successful University career with the University of Windsor Lancers, Beardy was a 5th round draft pick of the Ottawa Redblacks last May.

The 6’7″, Sarnia, Ontario product spent the majority of his rookie season on Ottawa’s practice squad, but did appear in one regular season game this year in Week 20, playing a November 4 game against Winnipeg.

The Ottawa Redblacks defeated the Calgary Stampeders 39-33 in overtime in the 104th Grey Cup in Toronto.
