Cougars Champs Crowned
The Chatham-Kent Cougars minor football organization crowned their Fall football champions this week, closing out the 2016 minor football season. Below are scores from the Cougars’ Day of Champs.
Parks Blueberries Wallaceburg Bantam – 15 vs. Campbell Toyota CKSS Bantam – 26
Cambell Toyota: Tyler Shumanski-116yds 2 TDs, Tate Wilkins-75 yards-Catch/TD run, Luke Goodison-25 yards + 2 point convert, Malachi Taylor- 20 yards, Rilee Benoot-25 yards (catch), Leading Tackles Rilee-9, Brennan Smyth-3, Jacob Lewis-4 Parks Blueberries: Jacob Taylor scored a TD and had over 120 yards on the ground, Shepley scored a TD and played well at QB running and throwing, Victor Paolone and Hunter Dalgety had 5 tackles.
TVCogeco Pines Tyke vs. Formosa Pro Shop McGregor Tyke
TVCogeco: Jacob Pretty had a 80 yard TD Run, Connor Devine, Jacob Pretty, Hudson Bowers, and Nick Shepherd had strong games.
Formosa Pro Shop: Logan Sharpe 2 Rushes 120 Yards 2TDs and 12 tackles, Reed Larson had 4 rushes for 75 yards and 1 TD, Royce Brooks had 2 rushes and 78 yards and 1 TD, and Luca Formosa had 9 tackles and 1 sack.
Enviro Clean Car and Dog Wash McGregor Peewee – 6 vs. Stanley Insurance Wallaceburg Peewee – 12
Stanley Insurance: Jaybee Sands, Bryson Brock, Zachary Kraayenbrink, Ethan Allen were game standouts.
Enviro Clean Car and Dog: Kaden Jefferson, Jaxon Henderson, Damaria Shova played well.
Evans Wholesale Wallaceburg Tyke vs. Enviro Clean Car and Dog Wash CKSS Tyke
Enviro Clean: Kuper Hodgins scored both TDs for 100 yards on 2 carries. Sawyer Emmott had 2 carries for 60 yards. Wes Mifflin had a carry and a catch for 40 total yards.
Evans Wholesale: Brent Apers, Ian Apers, Robert Soney, and Owen Shepherd had strong performances.
Peach Physiotherapy & Wellness Centre CKSS Peewee – 7 vs. TVCogeco Pines Peewee – 12
Peach Physiotherapy: Jack Crow scores a 35 yrd run for TD and had an INT, Brayden Skaarup 4 sacks and ran for a total of 33 yrds, Malakai Ladd 2 fumble recoveries and an INT, Alex Jones 3 sacks, Justus Sinclair had an INT and a Sack.
TVCoegeco: Brennan Normandin-Kerr player of the game, Griffin Schenk with a key fumble recovery, Gabe VanMoorsel strong line play; TVCogeco is the Cougar Peewee Champions.
Swain Bros McGregor Bantam – 9 vs. Bluewater Pools Pines Bantam – 12
Swain Bros: Bennett Hart caught and run in a TD, Trey Mulder kicked the extra point
Bluewater Pools: The Pines Bantam team won a hard fought defensive battle. Brandon Benoit and Aleks Sekerek each scored a touchdown. Cody Boulley ran the ball well and Lucas Rupert ran the offense well. Jude Pearson and Ethan Chanier played great defense. Bluewater Pools was the Cougar Minor Bantam Champions.
