Sarnia Sting’s Community Tour Visits CK
Chatham’s Memorial Arena played host to some OHL hockey on Tuesday night.
The Sarnia Sting were in town as part of the team’s Community Tour.
Spokesman Matt Rose says it’s is a great way to visit hockey fans across the region.
“We he a lot of season ticket holders, just fans in general that come from this area,” Rose says. “It’s our way of being able to thank those fans that are able to come to our games, however many times it is a year, and be able to give back to them.”
The Sting held a practice at the rink, followed by an open skate with the fans, which Rose says is a great experience for everyone involved.
“We have games coming up this weekend that our coaching staff have to prepare our players for,” Rose explains. “It is a full OHL practice that we do, an opportunity for minor hockey coaches in the area to come by and maybe learn a few things from our coaches in terms of what they put their players through.
This is the third year for the Sting’s Community Tour, and their second visit to Chatham-Kent.
