Kings’ Liberty Named League MVP
Thamesville’s Dillon Liberty was honoured Wednesday night at the PJHL Stobbs Division Award ceremony, taking home top honours as the league’s Most Valuable Player.
Liberty also won the Stobbs scoring title after the Dresden Kings forward totalled 45 goals and 77 points in just 38 games.
Liberty is in his fifth full Junior season. The 21-year-old forward has played 243 regular season and playoff games in Junior C, and the GOJHL, where Liberty spent more than a year with the Lambton Shores Predators before returning to Dresden. He’s totalled 102 career regular season Junior C goals.
A Chatham-Kent Cyclones alumni, Liberty had been Dresden’s MVP nominee for the past two seasons. This is his first major league award.
