Wildcats Finish 2-2 at London Tournament
This past weekend the Chatham-Kent Wildcats Bantam girls team played in the annual London Ramblers Tournament, finishing with a 2-2 record.
In the first game the Wildcat Bantam girls faced the York South Silver Knights.
Despite a 4th quarter comeback attempt, which saw the local girls outscore the opponent by 10 points, the bantams lost 54-46.
Elliot Cowan led the team with 12 points, 10 boards and 4 steals.
Claire Cox scored 8 points, Sara Turner added 7 points and 7 boards, Jillian Vickery 6 points and Solara Howe and Marissa Beselaere both scored 5 points.
The Wildcats battled throughout but lost to the host London Ramblers in the second game by a score of 45-38.
Elliot Cowan led the team with 16 points, 11 rebounds, 5 steals, 2 assists and 5 blocks. Marissa Beselaere added 8 points and Claire Cox 7 points.
The Bantam girls faced London CYO in their third game and came away with a 48-29 victory.
Marissa Beselaere scored 12 points and added 6 steals, Jillian Vickery 7 points, Sara Turner 6 points, Melissa Pardy contributed 5 points, Claire Cox 4 points and Sydney Sheppy finished with 4 points and 6 steals.
In the final game of the tournament, the Bantam girls faced a team from York North and finished with a 39-26 victory.
In the game Claire Cox led the way with 14 points, Jillian Vickery added 13 points and 5 steals while Elliot Cowan finished with 7 points, 10 boards and 4 assists.
