Maroons Eliminated

What started as a hopeful series for the Chatham Maroons, ended with a high scoring, and often lopsided losses.

The series culminated Thursday night as the Chatham Maroons fell 6-1 to the visiting London Nationals in game five, being eliminated 4-1.

Michael Douglas scored the lone Chatham goal, and Brendan Johnston and Lucas Patton again split time in net with Johnston allowing 5 goals on 17 shots, before Patton came in and made 18 saves, allowing one.

Austin Kemp had 2 goals for the London Nationals, who also got scoring from Carson Brookshaw, Max Vinogradov, Ethan Nother, and Michael Andlauer.

London will now advance to face the Leamington Flyers in a best of seven series for the GOJHL Western Conference championship. Leamington eliminated LaSalle 4-2 in their semi-final series.

    A very common end for a team that decides its local talent isn’t good enough and believes the only way to win is with plays from outside C-K. Look around, lots of talent here to beat London. Even London has C-K players.
