Chatham-Kent products Rachael Tricker and Hokey Langan were named to Canada’s National Ball Hockey team in preparation for the World Ball Hockey Federation Women’s World Championships.

The tournament will be held in Litomerice, Czech Republic, in June 2017.

“This team is comprised of highly talented, dedicated and diverse players led by an experienced, passionate and motivated coaching staff,” said general manager Cindy Horton in a team news release about the roster selection. “Each player has been selected for their athleticism, ball hockey skills, but most importantly for their character they display on & off the floor. When a group of players come together, combining each of these attributes….we have the components for a championship team.”

Langan is a veteran of Canada’s National Ball Hockey team, while Tricker was scouted at provincials last summer to join the roster for the first time. Langan last won World gold with Canada in 2015, and also won a title with Canada in 2013.
