Pool Sharks Make Splash At Eastern Championships

Chatham Y Pool SharksThe Chatham ‘Y’ Pool Sharks made quite the splash at the Eastern Canadian Championships in Etobicoke this past weekend, bringing home FIVE medals, including three gold.

Wallaceburg’s Madison Broad had a huge meet, sweeping the backstroke events, with first place gold medal finishes in the 100, 50 and 200 bbackstroke, becoming a three-time Eastern Canadian Champion over the course of a single weekend.

Genevieve (Gigi) Sasseville also remarkably found the podium twice, winning bronze medals in the 100 fly and 50 free events.

Best times were recorded on nearly every swim by the likes of Gigi, Broad, David Train and Kendra Poleowski with several trial cuts made by the Sharks.

Overall, Chatham finished 13th out of 91 scoring teams at the Eastern Canadian Championships.
