Ballhawks Win Provincial Medals
The Ballhawks finished the season ranked 26th out of 116 competing teams at the event. Chatham started the 3 day tournament with a 2-1 record on Friday with victories coming against Scarborough Titans Evolution and the Leaside Lightning before dropping the final match to Burlington Defensa. On Saturday, the girls were in tough against 3 teams ranked in the top 20 and came up empty handed versus Georgetown Impact Red, London LVC Intensity, and finally Ottawa Mavericks Stampede to round out the day.
Sunday in the win-or-go-home format, the Ballhawks defeated the Orillia Suns Eclipse in the quarter finals and quickly dismantled the Kingston Pegasus in the semi-finals, which set up a rematch from earlier in the tournament against the Leaside Lightning. This time around however, the Lightning struck one too many times and the 15U Chatham girls hauled in the silver medals to finish out the tournament. This hardware is added to the silver and two bronze finishes the girls had earlier in the season.
