After working two weeks to fix the damage from opening night, Wilson with help from his two brothers, suggestions and support from his Uncle Dave, was able to take home a first place feature win. Wilson’s win was not easy, as he had to battle both second place finisher Chuck Stuart #9 and third place finisher Carter Pickering #23 who were always in hot pursuit. Marshall Hereygers #31 who started the feature in the middle of the pack managed to quietly and patiently move himself throughout the race right into the number one position. He thanked his crew and family for the fine tune adjustments that were made to the car making him the feature winner. The West Side Performance Plus Late Model Feature demonstrated that doing your homework really can pay off. Mike Lewis of the #5 car spent a lot of time and work this winter fine tuning his race car for the 2017 season. His first place feature win showed it was worth all of the work. Lewis who battled hard with Jake Hooker #38, Dale Glassford #60 and backup driver for #7 Colby car Chris Ross, maintained his control and composure through the race. Lewis, thanked all of his fans for “sticking out the late nights” and his brother for the setup done to his car. Ross, who started third, battled hard for second place and showed that even after a three year hiatus from racing, he’s still got it. Glassford, who after an unfortunate incident fell to the back to the pack made an incredible comeback and claimed third place.
