CK Sends Large Contingent Of Athletes To OFSAA
One of the largest contingents of track and field athletes from Chatham-Kent in recent years will head to the OFSAA track and field championships in Belleville, which run from Thursday to Saturday.
Chatham-Kent Secondary School leads the way sending more than a dozen athletes.
CKSS’ group is headlined by their women’s team, including Ally Oulds, Payton Sabourin, Camille Blain, and Alison Stephens.
Stephens and Oulds were the only two Chatham-Kent athletes to win events at West Regionals, with Stephens winning the Junior girls discus, and Oulds capturing the Senior girls 400m dash.
Sabourin will compete in four events including the Junior girls 400m and 200m races, as well as the 4x100m and 4x400m relays.
Blain advanced in each of her individual events, the only Chatham-Kent athlete to do so, as she’ll compete in the Midget girls 300m hurdles, 80m hurdles, and 200m dash.
Other Chatham-Kent athlete who will compete at OFSAA include James Muharrem (CKSS), Marandee Hunter (CKSS), Chloe Pugh (CKSS), Kirsten VanGoethem (CKSS), Jana Kucera (CKSS), Logan Kucera (CKSS), Rayne Kellier (CKSS), Curtis Godfrey (CKSS), Tye Douma (CKSS), Thador Tehkli (CKSS), Kristyn Kistuline (Blenheim), and Carolyn Prins (Chatham Christian).
