TekSavvy Backs New Toronto Pro Rugby Team
Chatham company TekSavvy, an internet and phone provider, will partner up with Toronto’s newest professional sports franchise, the Toronto Wolfpack. The Wolfpack are a professional rugby team playing in the Rugby Football League.
TekSavvy will be the title sponsor for the Toronto Wolfpack’s inaugural home game this weekend, May 6. The Wolfpack will also name a “TekSavvy Difference Maker” following each match, awarded to the player who worked the hardest.
“TekSavvy is excited to be the Official Telecom Sponsor for the Toronto Wolfpack,” TekSavvy CEO Marc Gaudrault said in a Wolfpack news release.
“We’re known for being ‘different, in a good way’. By starting at the bottom and working their way up through the leagues, the Wolfpack definitely embodies this. We’ve always had a great customer connection with Toronto, so we’re looking forward to cheering along with them for this winning team, for years to come.”
Toronto Wolfpack CEO Eric Perez also said the organization is happy to partner with the Chatham based business.
“It’s great to team up with such an innovative business like TekSavvy. They are the perfect partner for our team, as we both share a common vision of working the hardest to get what we do right, and doing it in a manner that’s genuinely open and honest.”
The Wolfpack are Canada’s first professional rugby team, and the world’s first transatlantic professional sports team.
