Jamieson Tour Opens In Ridgetown
The Jamieson Junior Golf Tour held the first of 11 tour events on Sunday at Ridgetown Golf Club. Players enjoyed warm but very windy conditions on the tight Ridgetown layout.
A total of 96 Junior and Collegiate players, including many from Chatham-Kent, in four divisions teed it up.
In the junior boys division, James Hill of Beach Grove shot an even par 72 to edge Liam Fisk of Essex by a single stroke. Matthew Charron of Roseland and Curtis Hughes of Rochester Place both carded 74’s.
Hannah Meloche of Sutton Creek set the pace in the junior girls division with an 81, 5 shots better than Shannon Coffey of Roseland.
In the Collegiate Women division, Megan Schauer of Essex and Melanie Burgess of Roseland both carded 87’s. Megan won the playoff by parring all three extra holes.
The Collegiate Men’s division Thomas DeMarco of Essex and Bryce Hughes of Rochester Place tied with 2 under par 70’s. Thomas birdied the first playoff hole to take the title.
