Chatham’s Joseph Raaymakers has been invited to skate at the Tampa Bay Lightning’s Development camp, which begins Tuesday, June 27, running until July 1.

This is the second NHL camp Raaymakers has earned an invitation to, skating with the New York Rangers last summer.

The 1998 born goaltender is one of four netminders at the camp, including two Lightning draft picks, and another invitee from the NCAA. Raaymakers is the youngest of the four goalies attending camp.

Last season, Raaymakers started for the OHL’s Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, compiling a 3.38 GAA and .889 save percentage in 41 games.

His playoff performance earned Raaymakers national recognition, collecting a 1.95 GAA, and .942 save percentage in 10 games. He was named the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week in early April during the playoffs.

The Development Camp will feature high profile NHL prospects including NHL first round draft picks Brett Howden, and Callan Foote, and newly acquired prospect Mikhail Sergachev, who was a first round pick of the Montreal Canadiens.
