Langan, Tricker Lead Canada To Gold

Chatham’s Hokey Langan, and Thamesville’s Rachael Tricker played a key role with Team Canada, helping their country win gold at the World Ball Hockey Championships in Litomerice, Czech Republic this week.

Langan and Tricker were both in the top five in tournament scoring, with Langan leading the tournament in round robin scoring, collecting 8 goals and 7 assists, while Tricker had 3 goals and 5 assists from the blueline.

Langan also served as team captain for Canada.

Canada went a perfect 4-0 in round robin before defeating Slovakia 7-0 in the semi-final, where Tricker scored twice, and Langan had a goal and two assists.

Facing the host Czech Republic in the final, Canada took the 4-1 victory. Rachael Tricker had a goal in the gold medal game.

Tricker was named Best Defenseman at the tournament.
