Red Devils Tie Series at One

The Red Devils have tied up the Jr B Lacrosse Western Conference quarterfinals, beating Windsor 17-11 at home on Saturday.

Sidney Powless scored four goals and two assists in the win, while Noble Jacobs stopped 39 shots in net.

Co-coach Jamie Knight says the key to success is staying focused.

“We just need to keep sticking to the tame plan, keep running or offence that we’ve been running all year, and keep getting out on their shooter,” Knight says. “This is the style we want to play, we want to run this team, I think if we do that, we should have no problem beating this team.”

Knight says they’re ready for game three in Windsor Wednesday night.

“I think the big thing for us to win in their barn is preparation. We need to be mentally prepared to play, we need to get down there early and the kids need to get in that zone.”

With the best-of-five tied at one, it’s a brand new series now.

“Game one was anybody’s game, so right now Windsor’s kind of on their heels but it’s just another game, we need to go down there and steal one in game three.”

Game three goes Wednesday night at Forest Glade Arena, starting at 8 o’clock.
