Bantam Cougars Win OFC South Division
The Chatham-Kent Cougars Bantam football team won the OFC South Championship game this weekend, defeating the Brantford Bisons by a score of 21-2. The Cougars will play in the OFC Bantam Championship game next weekend.
Against Brantford, Brandon Benoit ran for 85-yards, including a 28-yard touchdown run.
Drew Barko passed for 133-yards on the day, including two touchdowns.
Barko found Trevor Lawton for 5-yard and 14-yard touchdowns.
On the defensive side, Tyler Shumanski had a well rounded performance, collecting 4 tackles, 2 interceptions, a batted ball, and a forced fumble. Brayden Charbonneau also had 4 tackles, one assist, a batted ball and an interception. Jude Pearson had 7 tackles, an assist, and a fumble recovery, while Jakob Taylor also had a strong day on defense, collecting 6 tackles, 2 assists, and a sack.
