Delaney Taylor Going To Nationals
Thamesville’s Delaney Taylor will compete this month at the Canadian Rugby Championships in Nova Scotia, after being named to Team Ontario in June.
“I’m very excited,” said Taylor about the opportunity to play for the Ontario Blues. “I’ve spent the past six months in Europe working and these tryouts were the only reason I came home for the summer. It’s also great to see my hard work paying off.”
Taylor will play with the Ontario Blues Women’s program, which is a high performance program for female rugby players in Ontario. The team serves as a stepping stone to Canada’s National program.
The Canadian Rugby Championships take place in Truro from July 11 to the 16.
Taylor, who plays club rugby for London St. George’s, and is an alumni of UCC,
The Women’s U20 team will look to repeat as champions, as they won gold at the 2016 CRC Championships.
