Maroons Re-Sign Three Vets

The Chatham Maroons have announced the signing of three returning veterans for the upcoming 2017-18 GOJHL season.

The offensive firepower of Ridgetown’s Nolan VandenBoorn and Whitby’s Bryce Yetman will be back up front for the Maroons. Both 20-goal scorers, the two ranked sixth and seventh in Chatham scoring last season. VandenBoorn contributed 26 goals and 47 points, with Yetman adding 20 goals and 25 helpers in just 31 games.

Bringing his grittiness and skill back to the blue line is Saginaw, Michigan’s Dakota Bohn. The 6’1″, 190 pound d-man found the back of the net five times, with 19 assists (24 points) while spending 118 minutes in the penalty box. Bohn was an alternate captain for the Maroons last year.

Last season, the Chatham Maroons graduated six players to age, including leading scorer Austin Thompson and team captain Steven Beenackers.

The Maroons have recently added several new faces including locals Austin Bentley, Nick Delyzer, Grant Spence, Eric Carter, and Dylan Schives, as well as Alixe Saliba from the Wheatley Sharks and OHL veteran Dane Johnstone.
