Vanroboys Signs In BCHL
Thamesville’s Lucas Vanroboys will play in the BCHL next season, after signing with the Nanaimo Clippers.
The British Columbia Hockey League is considered by most as Canada’s top Junior A league, annually producing dozens of NCAA Division I players.
Vanroboys, who was a 14th round selection of the OHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs in 2015, is coming off a four season career at South Kent Academy in Connecticut, where he played for the Selects Academy U18 team last season.
Playing in the USPHL, the six-foot Vanroboys had his best season with the school, scoring 13 goals and 31 points in 45 games.
Last season, Blenheim’s Evan DeBrouwer backstopped Nanaimo for 39 games. DeBrouwer will remain in the BCHL this season, but will play for the Prince George Spruce Kings.
