The Chatham Maroons will be predominantly, a local Junior B team this season after years of seeing on a few local products on the ice.

The Maroons committed to several more local players this week including Charing Cross’ Thomas Michaud, Wallaceburg’s Noah Labonte, Chatham’s Seth Henderson, and Blenheim’s Chase Henry.

Chatham’s signing of these players also marks a youth movement, as the entire group of players are 2000 born.

They are all alumni of the Chatham-Kent Cyclones ‘AAA’ program.

Michaud comes from the Windsor Jr. Spitfires Major Midget ‘AAA’ program last season, where he scored 36 points in 45 games, helping Windsor win the Alliance championship. He also played a handful of games with the Dresden Kings, and was committed to the Blenheim Blades before signing with Chatham.

Labonte played 4 games last season with the Maroons, while Henderson and Henry AP’d for Blenheim and Dresden respectively, while playing local minor hockey.
