Chatham FC Wins Division 3 Title, Earn Promotion

The Chatham FC woman’s travel team were crowned LAWSL Division 3 Champs on Thursday night in Byron.

Chatham finished their inaugural season in the London Area Woman’s Soccer League on the road in Byron with a 2-0 victory, to finish the season undefeated in league play.

Their Perfect 16-0 record ensures their promotion to Division 2 next season. Chatham’s only blemish on the season was a 1 – 0 semi final Cup loss to Sarnia Spirit, the eventual cup Champs. Chatham allowed only 2 goals in 15 league games while scoring 52 goals.

Alissa Burd led the team and finished 3rd in league scoring with 15 goals, and 20 goals overall including Cup competitions. Goalie Brooke Foster lead the league by a wide margin, with 12 of the team’s 13 shutouts.

In their final game again Byron, Burd scored both goals, while Samantha St. Croix earned the shutout.
